What is Mission Affordable?
Mission Affordable is community of small scale developers, investors, public partners, advocates, and community champions working collaboratively to increase affordable housing production in San Antonio.
We are a collection of doers focused on community-centered development and investment with the goal of increasing affordability in San Antonio, Texas, one property at a time.
We are investors, builders, developers, architects, rehabbers, public servants, advocates, and everything in-between.
We support each other's journey in real estate through the sharing of knowledge and ideas, and through collaborative problem-solving.
We believe that "affordability" doesn't mean any one thing and we seek to advance every interpretation of it to make our city as inclusive and balanced as it can be.
We are about leveraging and navigating the current system to achieve affordability in San Antonio. This is not a "cancel the rent" kind of community.
We believe that keeping an adequate supply of housing at all levels helps to keep the price of housing (rent and sale) more manageable and avoids the downward pressure of price escalation on lower income households.
